  5. This package of files has been compiled to give you as much information
  6. as possible about the workings of Fidonet and Net 147

  20. POLICY4.TXT  - The latest Fidonet International Policy Document
  21. REQUIRE.TXT  - The main requirement for being a member of Fidonet

  27. Please take the time to read the contents of WELCOME.ZIP.  Some of it maybe
  28. long and boring but it is rather important. Much of it is designed to help
  29. you become acquainted, more quickly, with what Fidonet has to offer.

  62. Currently Greg Trotter @1:147/63 operates a usnet/uucp mail gateway.  If you
  63. if you are interested in passing mail on the internet, please contact
  64. Greg via Netmail for the specifics on how to use the gate.

  66. Routed Netmail:

  68. At the present time, you can send netmail to any other Fidonet node free.
  69. The netmail is routed in with the echomail, turnaround time and response
  70. is very good.  All the mail hubs are set up to handle this.  How you
  71. implement it on you system depends on your software; consult your
  72. documentation.  On a system that uses Qmail 1.00 the following routing
  73. statments would route all (non crash) netmail outside of Net 147 to
  74. the mail hub 1:147/1000.

  79. NODEDIFFS and FIDONEWS

  81. Net 147 offers automated delivery of FIDONEWS and NODEDIFFS on a weekly
  82. basis.  If you are interested in receiving either of the above please
  83. contact your mail hub or the current Net Coordinator.
